Forgot WordPress Password? Here is How to Recover

It is not very uncommon to forget passwords for web services. People do forget passwords. Even the most tech-savvy people also forget their passwords at some point. And same goes for WordPress as well. You might forget WordPress password. But there is no need to panic. It is possible to recover lost WordPress password in a few steps. If you are using cPanel, then it is possible to change WordPress password from PhpMYadmin at the database level.

However, there is the easier option as well for those who are not tech-savvy. In order to reocver your WordPress password, go to the WordPress login page (yourwebsite.com/wp-admin). ?Ag the bottom of the login boxes, you will see a link titled “lost Your password”.

Click that link and you will see a new page where you will be asked to enter your email password which should be the email that you used when you created your WordPress user account. In case of administrative user, it will be email address that you used while installing WordPress blog. Enter the email address and click on Get New Password.

You will get an email message where you will see a link which you can click and you will be taken to a page where you could be able to enter new password. Try to select a difficult to guess password. ?Repeat the new password and Click on Reset Password. This will reset your password and now you will be able to log in to your WordPress dashboard using this new password.

You may also like to use a password management tool like Keepass which is free and saves your passwords in encrypted format. Because of so many passwords, it is always likely that you will have forgot WordPress at some point and in such a situation, you can easily see the password in Keepass.
